Kooth

Kooth exists to make mental health support accessible, inclusive, and stigma-free for young people and adults across the UK. We recognise that many people struggle in silence, unsure where to turn or unable to access timely help. Our purpose is to provide a safe, welcoming space for anyone to be heard and supported, without judgment, waiting lists, or barriers.

We offer free, digital mental health services that meet people where they are. Our online platform gives users access to one-to-one chats with qualified counsellors, moderated peer forums, helpful self-care tools, and educational content. Alongside this, our engagement team works across schools, colleges, and communities to raise awareness, deliver interactive workshops, and help others feel confident talking about mental health.

The impact of our work can be seen in the real stories of people who feel less alone, more supported, and more able to cope. Whether it’s a young person opening up for the first time, or a teacher learning how to support their students, Kooth helps make mental health a shared responsibility rather than a silent struggle.

We are a team of dedicated professionals, including counsellors, educators, and mental health advocates. Together, we are working towards a future where mental wellbeing is understood, supported, and treated as a normal part of everyday life.

Kooth is proud to be a leading digital mental health service that has been recognised nationally for its innovative approach. We have received several awards for our impact and accessibility, including accolades for improving mental health outcomes among young people. Our platform is backed by robust research and clinical evidence, demonstrating that timely digital support can reduce feelings of isolation, anxiety, and depression.

Additionally, Kooth continually contributes to the wider mental health field through partnerships with universities and research institutions, helping to develop best practices in digital therapy and engagement. We also publish insights and reports based on anonymised data to inform policy and improve mental health services across the UK.

Our commitment to accessibility means we are constantly evolving to meet the diverse needs of our users, including offering multi-language support and working with communities often underserved by traditional mental health services.

Kooth places great value on lived experience, involving users in the development of our services and resources. This co-production approach ensures we remain relevant and effective in supporting those who need us most.
