Yasmin is a certified career and leadership Coach who specialises in working with aspiring and current women leaders to help them thrive in their careers. She has worked as a teacher and leader in education for over sixteen years across a range of different school settings from single sex, co-ed, state funded, international and private. Yasmin has coached teachers and leaders within the education sector throughout her whole career. She has developed her practice through the PGCert in Coaching and Mentoring as well as completing a Diploma in Transformational Coaching with Animas. Yasmin has also gained her ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation which means she has met the ICF core competencies for coaching and adheres to the ICF ethical framework when coaching her clients and working with sponsors. Yasmin works closely with WomenEd to identify and understand common themes in coaching women. She has developed various coaching tools and techniques that are bespoke to coaching women in education. With these tools, she has helped women in education overcome limiting beliefs, imposter syndrome and develop their own confident and authentic leadership style.

Career Experience

Yasmin has spent over sixteen years working in the education sector, starting as an English teacher in inner city Leeds and working up to senior leadership level in the North West. She has lead at middle leader level as Head of English as well as whole school level overseeing rewards, attendance and whole school literacy. Working within a large MAT gave Yasmin experience of working across different schools within a trust and supporting cohesion and sharing of best practice. She now co-leads a training provider with her brother overseeing and delivering the coaching training provision across a range of sectors including school MATs and LEAs.

Coaching for Social Justice: Decoloniality as a Systemic Lens

Harroop works with real integrity, and her authentic approach to coaching really made me feel as though she valued me as a human first and foremost. The activities Harroop provided were impactful and effective, and made sure I was held to account for my progress in a way which was non-threatening and supportive.

One of the key takeaways for me from coaching sessions with Harroop has been self-advocacy and the ability (and willingness) to advocate for myself and navigate difficult conversations in service of my goals. I realise, through our work together, that much of this stemmed from how I perceive myself as a woman, mother, and educator.

I have coached many leaders throughout my career including supporting many senior leaders to secure their Headships. This coaching has been within the organisations I have served and for wider national networks such as Challenge Partners, Greater London Authority, Ambition School Leadership and more recently my own coaching organisation Holistic Leadership. My coaching philosophy centres on people-focussed coaching supporting the individual to reflect on past narratives and stories and releasing beliefs that aren’t useful. Career Experience

I began my journey in education as a teaching assistant and over the next seven years working in various leadership roles until securing my first Headship in 2012. Since then I have taken on Executive Leadership roles in and across Trusts and become a Trust CEO in January 2021. Throughout it all I have endeavoured to model values-based leadership, raise communities and empower others in leadership and life.
